GSET Eligibility Criteria

- Education Qualification: Candidates must have a Master’s Degree recognized by UGC in a subject of GSET. Those with Post Graduate diploma/certificate from Indian University/Institute or Foreign degree/diploma/certificate from Foreign University/Institute should verify equivalence with Master’s degree from recognized Indian Universities through the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), New Delhi (www.aiu.ac.in). Candidates qualifying SET must submit equivalence certificate from AIU immediately after results.
- Age limit: There is no upper age limit for GSET eligibility for Assistant Professor positions.
- Application Fees:
- Rs. 900/- + Bank Charges – General/Gen-EWS/SEBC (Non-creamy layer) Candidates
- Rs. 700/- + Bank Charges – SC/ST/Transgender Candidates
- Rs. 100/- + Bank Charges – PWD (PH/VH) Candidates
GSET Selection Process
The GSET Examination consists of two papers, both featuring objective type questions.
Scheme of Examination for GSET
- GSET Examination will consist of two papers.
- Paper: 1
- Questions: 50 (all compulsory)
- Marks: 100
- Time: 01 hour
- Paper: 2
- Questions: 100 (all compulsory)
- Marks: 200
- Time: 02 hours
- Paper-I contains 50 objective type compulsory questions worth 2 marks each. These assess general teaching/research aptitude, testing reasoning ability, comprehension, divergent thinking, and general awareness.
- Paper-II has 100 objective type compulsory questions worth 2 marks each, based on the candidate’s selected subject.
- Questions in both papers appear in Gujarati and English versions (except for languages and science subjects). If discrepancies exist between versions, the English version prevails.
- No negative marking for incorrect answers.
