The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released an official notification for multiple technical positions. This recruitment drive aims to fill 19 important posts across various specializations.

Job Details

A total of 19 positions are available under this recruitment:

  • Assistant Soil Conservation Officer (Natural Resource Management/Rainfed Farming System): 01 Post
  • Scientific Officer (Chemical): 09 Posts
  • Scientific Officer (Non-Destructive): 04 Posts
  • Nautical Surveyor-cum-Dy. Director General (Technical): 05 Posts

Eligibility Criteria

Assistant Soil Conservation Officer (Natural Resource Management/Rainfed Farming System):

  • Educational Qualification: Master’s degree in Agronomy or Agriculture with Agronomy as a subject or Agricultural Chemistry or Soil Science or Agricultural Extension or Agricultural Economics or Agricultural Botany or Botany or Forestry or Bachelor’s Degree in Agricultural Engineering from a recognized university or institute
  • Age Limit: 35 years

Scientific Officer (Chemical):

  • Educational Qualification: Master’s Degree in Chemistry or Master’s Degree in Microbiology or Degree in Chemical Technology or degree in Chemical Engineering from a recognized University or Institute
  • Age Limit: 30 years

Scientific Officer (Non-Destructive):

  • Educational Qualification: Master’s Degree in Physics or Degree in Electrical Engineering or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Metallurgy from a recognized University or Institute
  • Age Limit: 30 years

Nautical Surveyor-cum-Dy. Director General (Technical):

  • Educational Qualification: Certificate of Competency as Master of a Foreign Going Ship as recognized by the Government of India
  • Age Limit: 50 years

Application Fee

Candidates need to pay a fee of Rs. 25/- (Rupees Twenty five) only. Payment can be made by remitting money in any branch of SBI by cash, using net banking facility of SBI, or using Visa/Master credit/debit card. No fee is required for SC/ST/PH/Women candidates of any community. OBC male candidates cannot claim fee exemption and must pay the full prescribed fee. Applications without the prescribed fee will be rejected summarily. Fee once paid shall not be refunded under any circumstance.

Selection Process

The selection process includes interviews with category-wise minimum suitability levels:

  • UR: 50 marks
  • OBC: 45 marks
  • SC/ST/PH: 40 marks

In cases where selection is made by Recruitment Test (RT) followed by interview, candidates must achieve minimum suitability at both stages. The minimum level of suitability for RT will be decided by the Commission on a case-to-case basis.
