UPSC NDA & NA (I) Exam 2023: 395 Posts Up for Grabs
The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has just dropped the official notification for NDA 1 2023! Released on 21st December 2022, this notification covers 395 exciting positions across the National Defence Academy and Naval Academy, with 19 posts specifically reserved for female candidates.

- Navy: 42 Posts
- Air Force: 120 Posts
- Naval Academy (10+2 Cadet Entry Scheme): 25 Posts
Who Can Apply?
Educational Requirements
The eligibility criteria vary slightly based on which wing you’re targeting:
- Army Wing: You need to have passed 12th Class under the 10+2 pattern from any recognized State Education Board or University
- Air Force & Naval Wings: You must have passed 12th Class with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics from the 10+2 pattern
- Good News: Even if you’re currently appearing for your 12th exams, you can still apply!
Age Criteria
Here’s what you need to know about age limits:
- Only unmarried male and female candidates are eligible
- Born between 2nd July 2004 and 1st July 2007 (both dates inclusive)
Application Fee Structure
Ready to apply? The application fee is Rs 100, but here’s the catch – SC/ST candidates and sons of JCOs/NCOs/ORs get a free pass! No fee required for them.
How Selection Works
The selection process is quite comprehensive:
- First up: Written examination (900 marks) – minimum qualifying marks set by UPSC
- Next: Officer Potentiality Test (900 marks) – conducted by the Services Selection Board
