Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification: Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree with at least one of these subjects: Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, or Zoology. Alternatively, a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Forestry, or Engineering from a recognized university is acceptable.

Age Limit: Between 21 to 32 years as on 01/08/2016

Application Fee

Candidates applying for the examination (except Female/SC/ST/PH candidates who are exempted) need to pay a fee of Rs.100. You can pay this amount by depositing cash in any SBI branch, using net banking facilities of SBI, or through Visa/Master Credit/Debit card.

Examination Scheme

The selection process includes two stages:

Preliminary Examination

  • Two compulsory objective-type papers of 200 marks each
  • Both papers available in Hindi and English
  • General Studies Paper-II is qualifying with minimum 33% marks
  • Duration: Two hours per paper
  • Low Vision candidates (minimum 40% impairment) can use a scribe and get extra 40 minutes

Main Examination

  • Paper I: General English (300 marks)
  • Paper II: General Knowledge (300 marks)
  • Paper III: Any two subjects (200 marks)
  • Paper IV: Selected from the list of optional subjects
  • Paper V: Optional subjects paper
  • Paper VI: Personality Test (300 marks)

Syllabus Overview

Paper I (200 marks): Current events, History of India, Indian and World Geography, Indian Polity, Economic and Social Development, Environmental ecology, and General Science.

Paper II (200 marks): Comprehension, interpersonal skills, logical reasoning, decision making, general mental ability, and basic numeracy.
