UPSC IES/ISS 2023 Notification Released
The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is now accepting applications for the Indian Economic Service/Indian Statistical Service (IES/ISS) Examinations 2023. You can apply online through the official website upsconline.nic.in until May 9th at 6 PM.
Exam Schedule and Vacancies
The UPSC IES/ISS exams 2023 are set to take place on June 23rd. The commission is looking to fill a total of 51 positions – 18 for the Indian Economic Service and 33 for the Indian Statistical Service.

Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
- Indian Economic Service: Candidates must have a Post-Graduate Degree in Economics/Applied Economics/Business Economics/Econometrics from a recognized university in India or a foreign university approved by the Central Government.
- Indian Statistical Service: Candidates need either a Bachelor’s Degree with Statistics/Mathematical Statistics/Applied Statistics as a subject, or a Master’s degree in Statistics/Mathematical Statistics/Applied Statistics from a recognized university.
- Note 1: Candidates who have appeared for qualifying exams but haven’t received results can apply provisionally.
- Note 2: In exceptional cases, UPSC may consider candidates with qualifications from other institutions.
- Note 3: Candidates with foreign university degrees may apply at UPSC’s discretion.
Age Limit
- Candidates must be between 21 and 30 years old as of August 1, 2023. This means you should be born between August 2, 1993, and August 1, 2002.
Application Fee
- The application fee is Rs. 200/- (Rupees Two Hundred only).
- Female, SC, ST, and Persons with Benchmark Disability candidates are exempted from paying the fee.
- Payment can be made through State Bank of India branches or using Visa/Master/RuPay Credit/Debit cards or Internet Banking of SBI.
Selection Process
- Candidates must clear both stages to be selected:
- Stage-I: Written examination
- Stage-II: Interview test
