UGC NET June 2026 Notification Released by NTA
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially opened online applications for the UGC NET June 2026 cycle. The application process begins on April 29, 2026.
Exam Schedule and Key Dates
The UGC NET 2026 exam will be conducted in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode for 85 subjects from June 22 to June 30, 2026. The last date for fee payment is May 20, 2026.
Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
Candidates must have a Master’s degree with at least 55% marks (50% for reserved categories). Final-year students can also apply.
Age Limit
- JRF: Maximum 30 years (relaxation for reserved categories)
- Assistant Professor: No age limit
Examination Fee
- Unreserved category: ₹1150
- General-EWS/OBC-NCL: ₹600
- ST/SC and third gender: ₹325
Payment can be made via Credit Card, Debit Card, Net Banking, or UPI.
Exam Pattern
The test consists of two papers with no break between them:
- Paper – 1: Teaching/research aptitude, 100 marks, 50 questions, 3 hours
- Paper – 2: Subject-specific knowledge, 200 marks, 100 questions, 3 hours

- Complete new registration with name, DOB, mobile, and email
- Log in with generated Application Number and Password
- Fill personal details, category, education, and subject
- Select exam city preferences
- Upload photograph and signature
- Pay the application fee
- Download confirmation page
- Print the application form for reference
