Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
- Junior Hindi Translator/Junior Translator: Master’s degree in Hindi with English as compulsory/elective subject or medium, or Master’s degree in English with Hindi as compulsory/elective subject or medium, or Master’s degree in any other subject with Hindi/English medium and the other as compulsory/elective subject, or Master’s degree in any subject with both Hindi and English as compulsory/elective subjects with either as medium, plus Recognized Diploma/Certificate in translation or two years translation experience in Central/State Government offices.
- For Senior Hindi Translator: Similar qualifications as above with three years translation experience in Central/State Government offices.
Age limit
- 18 to 30 years as on 01.08.2023 (born between 02.08.1993 and 01.08.2005)

SSC Scheme of Examination 2023
The examination consists of two papers:
- Paper- I (Objective Type – Computer Based Mode):
- General Hindi: 100 Questions & 100 Marks
- General English: 100 Questions & 100 Marks
- Duration: 2 Hours
- Paper- II (Conventional Type – Descriptive):
- Translation & Essay: 200
- Duration: 2 Hours
Paper-I contains objective multiple-choice questions with negative marking of 0.25 marks for wrong answers.
SSC JHT Examination Syllabus 2023
- Paper-I (Computer Based Examination): Tests understanding of languages and literature, correct use of words, phrases, idioms, and writing skills at degree level.
- Paper-II: Translation and Essay: Contains two passages for translation (Hindi to English and English to Hindi) and essays in both languages to test translation skills and comprehension.

- UR: 30%
- OBC/EWS: 25%
- Others: 20%
