SBI Recruitment 2023: 2000 Probationary Officer Posts Open

State Bank of India (SBI) has released a major recruitment notification for 2000 Probationary Officer vacancies (Adt. No. CRPD/PO/2023-24/19) on 6th September 2023. The official notification is now available on the SBI website @sbi.co.in.

This recruitment drive includes reserved positions for PWD candidates across various categories, including Learning Disabilities (LD), Vision Impairment (VI), and Hearing Impairment (HI).

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

Candidates must have a graduation degree in any discipline from a recognized University or equivalent qualification recognized by the Central Government. Final year students can apply provisionally, provided they submit proof of graduation completion by 31.12.2023.

Integrated Dual Degree (IDD) certificate holders should ensure their passing date is on or before 31.12.2023. Professional qualifications like Medical, Engineering, Chartered Accountant, and Cost Accountant are also eligible.

Age Limit

Candidates must be between 21 and 30 years as on 01.04.2023. This means you should have been born between 02.04.1993 and 01.04.2002 (both days inclusive).

Application Fee

  • General/EWS/OBC candidates: Rs 750
  • SC/ST/PwBD candidates: Nil

The application fee is non-refundable and cannot be reserved for any other examination.

Selection Process

The selection process consists of four stages that candidates must clear to get selected:

  1. Preliminary Examination
  2. Mains Examination
  3. Psychometric Test
  4. Interview

SBI PO 2023 Exam Pattern

Phase-1: SBI PO Preliminary Examination

This online exam consists of 100 questions worth 100 marks to be completed in 1 hour. The sectional cut-off has been removed, and only the overall score matters for selection.

  • English Language: 30 questions, 30 marks, 20 minutes
  • Numerical Ability: 35 questions, 35 marks, 20 minutes
  • Reasoning Ability: 35 questions, 35 marks, 20 minutes
  • Total: 100 questions, 100 marks, 1 hour

There’s a negative marking of 1/4th marks for each incorrect answer.

Phase-2: SBI PO Mains Examination

The Mains exam includes an Objective Test (200 marks) and a Descriptive Test (50 marks).

Objective Test:
  • Reasoning & Computer Aptitude: 40 questions, 50 marks, 50 minutes
  • Data Analysis & Interpretation: 30 questions, 50 marks, 45 minutes
  • General/Economy/Banking Awareness: 50 questions, 60 marks, 45 minutes
  • English Language: 35 questions, 40 marks, 40 minutes
  • Total: 155 questions, 200 marks, 3 hours
Descriptive Paper:
  • English Language (Letter Writing & Essay): 2 questions, 50 marks, 30 minutes

Phase-3: SBI PO Psychometric Test, Group Exercise & Interview

Category-wise merit lists will be prepared based on Mains exam scores. Approximately 3 times the number of vacancies for each category will be shortlisted for Phase-III, provided they meet the minimum qualifying score decided by the Bank.
