State Bank of India (SBI) has officially released the notification for recruiting 2056 Probationary Officers. The notification is now live on the official website sbi.co.in, kicking off the recruitment drive for these coveted positions.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

You need a graduation degree in any discipline from a recognized university. Final year students can apply provisionally, but must submit proof of graduation completion by 31st December 2021. Integrated Dual Degree (IDD) candidates should ensure their completion date is on or before 31st December 2021. Chartered Accountants and Cost Accountants are also eligible to apply.

Age Limit

Candidates must be between 21 and 30 years as of 1st April 2021. This means you should have been born not later than 1st April 2000 and not earlier than 2nd April 1991 (both days inclusive).

Application Fee

  • General/EWS/OBC candidates: ₹750
  • SC/ST/PWD candidates: No fee

Remember, the application fee is non-refundable and cannot be held for any other examination.

Selection Process

The recruitment process follows a three-tier system:

  1. Preliminary Examination
  2. Main Examination
  3. Group Exercise & Interview

Exam Pattern

Phase-I: Preliminary Examination

  • Total Questions: 100
  • Total Marks: 100
  • Duration: 1 Hour
  • English Language: 30 Questions
  • Quantitative Aptitude: 35 Questions
  • Reasoning Ability: 35 Questions

Note: Candidates shortlisted for Main Exam will be 10 times the vacancies in each category based on merit. No sectional cut-off applies.

Phase-II: Main Examination

  • Objective Test: 200 marks, 3 hours duration
    • Reasoning & Computer Aptitude: 45 Questions, 60 Marks (60 minutes)
    • Data Analysis & Interpretation: 35 Questions, 60 Marks (45 minutes)
    • General/Economy/Banking Awareness: 40 Questions, 40 Marks (35 minutes)
    • English Language: 35 Questions, 40 Marks (40 minutes)
  • Descriptive Test: 50 marks, 30 minutes
  • Total Questions: 155

Phase-III: Group Exercise & Interview

  • Group Exercise: 20 marks
  • Interview: 30 marks

OBC candidates must submit Non-Creamy Layer certificate. Those who register as OBC but don’t submit the certificate cannot be interviewed under General category.

Final Selection

Candidates must qualify both Phase-II and Phase-III separately. Main Exam marks (out of 250) are converted to out of 75, and Phase-III scores (out of 50) are converted accordingly. Preliminary marks are not included in the final merit list.

Penalty for Wrong Answers

For each wrong answer in Objective Tests, 1/4th of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted. Unattempted questions carry no penalty.
