NTA UGC NET Notification June 2020

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially announced the UGC-NET June 2020 examination. This test is for recruitment to the positions of Assistant Professor and Junior Research Fellowship. The exam will be conducted from 15th June to 20th June 2020 by NTA.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

  • Candidates must have secured at least 55% marks (without rounding off) in Master’s Degree or equivalent examination from universities/institutions recognized by UGC. For complete details, please refer to the official notification.

Age Limit

  • JRF: Not more than 30 years as on 01/06/2020
  • Assistant Professor: There is no upper age limit for applying

Examination Fee

  • Rs. 1000/- for General/UR
  • Rs. 500/- for Gen-EWS/OBC-NCL
  • Rs. 250/- SC/ST/PwD/Transgender

Exam Pattern

  • The test consists of two papers. Both papers contain objective type, multiple choice questions with no break between them.
  • Paper – 1: Tests teaching/research aptitude including reasoning ability, reading comprehension, divergent thinking and general awareness. 100 marks, 50 questions, 3 hours duration.
  • Paper – 2: Based on the subject selected by the candidate to assess domain knowledge. 200 marks, 100 questions, 3 hours duration.

Subject and Syllabus

  • The list of UGC-NET subjects for June 2020 with their codes is provided in Annexure-III of the notification.
  • The syllabus has been modified and the new syllabus applicable from June 2019 onwards has been notified on the NTA website.

Selection Process

  • Final selection will be based on Computer Based Test (CBT).

  • Last date for application: 16/04/2020 (till 11:50 pm)
  • Last date for fee payment: 17/04/2020 (till 11:50 pm)
  • Correction in application form: 18/04/2020 to 24/04/2020
  • Downloading of Admit Cards: 15/05/2020
  • Dates of Examination: 15/06/2020 to 20/06/2020
  • Time of Examination: 09:30 am to 12:30 pm & 02:30 pm to 05:30 pm (3 hrs duration)
