ITBP Recruitment 2016 for Head Constable

The Indo-Tibetan Border Police Force (ITBP), Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India has published notification for recruitment of male & female Indian citizens (including citizens of Nepal & Bhutan) for filling up vacancies to the posts of Head Constable (Education & Stress Counsellor), Group ‘C’ (non-Gazetted & non Ministerial), on temporary basis.

  • Total no of Posts: 44
  • Name of Posts: Head Constable
  • Educational Qualification: Degree from a recognized University or equivalent with Psychology as a subject or Degree from a recognized University with Bachelor of Education/Bachelor of Teaching or equivalent
  • Age limit: 20 to 25 years (as on 22/04/2016 – Not born before 22/04/1991 and later than 22/04/1996)
  • Pay Scale: PB-I, Pay Scale Rs. 5200-20200 + Grade Pay Rs.2,400/- per month
  • Application Fee: The candidates belonging to General and OBC category shall be required to pay Rs 50/- (Non refundable) as application fee in form of Indian Postal Order (IPO)

Selection Process

  1. Height Bar Test: Candidates shall be asked to go through the height bar test. The candidates not meeting the prescribed height shall be eliminated.
  2. Race: The candidates who qualify the Height Bar Test shall be subjected to qualify 1.6 Kms race to be completed within 10 minutes (for male) and 12 minutes (for female)
  3. Checking of documents: The original documents of candidates who qualify the race will be checked by the Board
  4. Physical Standard Test (PST): Candidates found eligible in documentation will be screened for height, chest (chest measurement for male candidates only) and weight measurements
  5. Written Examination (100 Marks): Objective type-OMR Based examination

Physical Standards

Physical requirements include height measurements, chest measurements for male candidates, and weight measurements. Candidates must meet the prescribed physical standards to proceed in the selection process.

Medical Standards

Candidates must meet medical fitness criteria including eye sight requirements. The minimum distance vision shall be 6/6 and 6/9 for both eyes without correction.

Merit lists in each category namely, UR (General), SC, ST, OBC and Ex-servicemen shall be drawn on the basis of marks obtained by the candidates in the written examination. Candidates shortlisted in order of merit in each category will be put through Detailed Medical Examination.
