Indian Army Recruitment for 635 Havildar Posts
The Indian Army has released a notification for recruitment of 635 Havildar posts in Science & Arts Stream. This recruitment offers an opportunity for qualified candidates to join the Army Educational Corps.

Educational Qualification
Candidates must have working knowledge of both English and Hindi. They should have graduated from a recognized university in the following subjects at PG/graduation level:
- Science Stream: M.Sc / B.Sc / MCA / BCA / M.Tech / B.Tech / B.Sc (IT) with Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, Biology, Electronics and Computer Science.
- Arts Stream: MA/BA with English Literature, Hindi Literature, Urdu Literature, History, Geography, Political Science, Economics, Psychology, Mathematics and Sociology.
Physical Standards
Minimum physical standards include:
- 1.6 Km run in maximum 6 minutes and 20 seconds
- Pull ups (Beam): Minimum 6 pull ups
- Zig Zag balance: Must pass
- 9 feet ditch: Must Pass
Candidates should have robust physique and mental health. Chest should be well developed with minimum 5 cm expansion. Should have normal hearing in each ear. Should have sufficient number of natural healthy gums and teeth, i.e 14 dental points. Should have no diseases like deformity of bones, hydrocele, varicose veins or piles. Remustering candidates should be in medical category SHAPE-1.
Selection Process
Selection will be based on Physical Fitness Test (PFT), medical standards, written exam and aptitude test/interview.
Written Examination
Only candidates selected in screening and declared medically fit will appear for the written examination conducted at HQ Recruiting Zones/IRO Delhi Cantt.
- Qualifying: Candidates must score minimum 40% (20 marks each) in Part I and Part II separately
- Part-I (Compulsory for all): 50 questions on General Knowledge and General English (Max 50, Pass 20)
- Part-II (Science Stream): Questions from Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Computer Science (Max 50, Pass 20)
- Part-II (Arts Stream): Questions from Mathematics, History, Geography, Political Science and Economics (Max 50, Pass 20)
- All answers marked on OMR answer sheet
Teaching Aptitude Test/Interview
Candidates successful in written examination and placed in merit list will appear for Teaching Aptitude Test/Interview at AEC Training College & Centre, Pachmarhi (MP). Those qualifying in all stages will be enrolled in the Army Educational Corps.

- For serving soldiers: Apply online and forward written application (Prescribed format) with required documents to respective record offices
- Top outer of envelope should read “APPLICATION FOR HAV (EDN)” inscribed in red ink
