GSET 2022 Notification

The Gujarat State Eligibility Test (GSET) 2022 has officially announced its examination notification for Assistant Professor positions. This Thirteenth Gujarat State Eligibility Test will be conducted on Sunday, 30th September 2018 at six centers including Vadodara, Ahmedabad, Rajkot, Surat, Patan and Bhavnagar in 23 subjects.

GSET Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must meet these requirements to apply:

  • Education Qualification: Master’s Degree recognized by U.G.C. in a subject of GSET. Candidates with Post Graduate diploma/certificate from Indian University/Institute or Foreign degree/diploma/certificate from Foreign University/Institute should verify equivalence with Master’s degree from recognized Indian Universities through the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), New Delhi (www.aiu.ac.in). Such candidates who qualify SET will need to submit equivalence certificate from AIU immediately after results. Candidates must have secured at least 55% marks (without rounding off) in Master’s Degree OR equivalent examination from UGC-recognized universities/institutions in Sciences, Humanities (including languages) and Social Science, Computer Science & Applications. SEBC (Non-Creamy Layer)/SC/ST/PwD (PH-Physically Handicapped/VH-Visually Handicapped) candidates with at least 50% marks (without rounding off) in Master’s degree or equivalent examination are eligible.
  • Age limit: No upper age limit applies for GSET eligibility for Assistant Professor.
  • Application Fees:
    • Rs. 900/- + Bank Charges – General/Gen-EWS/SEBC (Non-creamy layer) Candidates
    • Rs. 700/- + Bank Charges – SC/ST/Transgender Candidates
    • Rs. 100/- + Bank Charges – PWD (PH/VH) Candidates

GSET Selection Process

The GSET Examination will consist of two papers, both featuring only objective type questions.

Scheme of Examination for GSET

  • GSET Examination will consist of two papers.
    • Paper: 1
      • Questions: 50 (all compulsory)
      • Marks: 100
      • Time: 01 hour
    • Paper: 2
      • Questions: 100 (all compulsory)
      • Marks: 200
      • Time: 02 hours
  • Paper-I contains 50 objective type compulsory questions worth 2 marks each. These questions are general in nature, designed to assess teaching/research aptitude, reasoning ability, comprehension, divergent thinking and general awareness.
  • Paper-II includes 100 objective type compulsory questions worth 2 marks each, based on the subject selected by the candidate.
  • Questions in both papers appear in both Gujarati and English versions (except for languages and science subjects). In case of discrepancies between Gujarati and English versions in Paper I and II, the English version should be considered final.
  • There are no negative marks for incorrect answers.

    • Paper II: 2 Hour (10:30 am to 12:30 pm)
