Gujarat SET 2019 Notification Out

The Gujarat State Eligibility Test (GSET) has released its official notification for the Assistant Professor recruitment. The Thirteenth Gujarat State Eligibility Test will be conducted on Sunday, 29th December 2019 at six centers: Vadodara, Ahmedabad, Rajkot, Surat, Patan, and Bhavnagar, covering 23 subjects.

GSET Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • Education Qualification: Master’s Degree recognized by UGC in a subject of GSET. Candidates with Post Graduate diploma/certificate from Indian or Foreign universities must obtain equivalence certification from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), New Delhi. General category candidates need at least 55% marks (without rounding off) in Master’s Degree. SEBC (Non-Creamy Layer), SC, ST, and PwD candidates require at least 50% marks.
  • Age limit: No upper age limit applies for Assistant Professor eligibility.
  • Application Fees:
    • Rs. 900/- + Bank Charges – General/EWS/SEBC (Non-creamy layer) Candidates
    • Rs. 700/- + Bank Charges – SC/ST/Transgender Candidates
    • Rs. 100/- + Bank Charges – PWD (PH/VH) Candidates

GSET Selection Process

The examination consists of two papers with objective type questions only.

Scheme of Examination

  • Paper 1:
    • Questions: 50 (compulsory)
    • Marks: 100
    • Time: 1 hour
  • Paper 2:
    • Questions: 100 (compulsory)
    • Marks: 200
    • Time: 2 hours
  • Paper-I will feature 50 objective questions testing reasoning ability, comprehension, divergent thinking, and general awareness.
  • Paper-II will contain 100 objective questions based on the candidate’s selected subject.
  • Questions appear in both Gujarati and English versions (except languages and science subjects). English version prevails in case of discrepancies.
