Eligibility Criteria:
Educational Qualification
- A Bachelor’s degree from any University established or incorporated by or under the Central or a State Act in India, or any other educational institution recognized as such or declared to be deemed as a University under section 3 of the University Grants Commission act, 1956;
- Basic knowledge of computer applications as prescribed in the Gujarat Civil Services Classification and Recruitment (General) Rules 1967;
- Adequate knowledge of Gujarati or Hindi or both.
Age limit
- Not more than 35 years
Selection Process
- The selection process includes two stages:
- Preliminary Examination (objective type) to select candidates for the Main examination; and
- Main Examination (written) for final selection of candidates for the post of Chief Officer, Class-III.
Municipal Chief Officer Exam Pattern & Syllabus 2018
- Preliminary Examination
- The Preliminary Examination consists of one paper of objective type (Multiple Choice Questions) carrying a maximum of 150 total marks. The preliminary Examination consists of one paper of total 150 marks as follows:-
- General Studies: 150 Marks & 75 Minutes
- Main Examination:
- The Main Examination consists of a Written Examination with three papers.
- The marks obtained in the Main Examination determine the final ranking.
- The Main Examination includes the following papers:-
- Paper – 1: Gujarati (Descriptive): 100 Marks (3 Hours)
- Paper – 2: English (Descriptive): 100 Marks (3 Hours)
- Paper – 3: General Studies (Descriptive): 200 Marks (3 Hours)
- Total: 400 Marks
