UPSC IFS Prelims 2023 Announcement
The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) released the detailed notification for the Indian Forest Service (Preliminary) Examination, 2023 on February 01, 2023. The UPSC IFS Prelims Application form 2023 is now available on the official website at upsc.gov.in. Candidates can fill and submit their application forms online. Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
- Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree with at least one of these subjects: Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, or Zoology. Alternatively, a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Forestry, or any Engineering field from Universities incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India, or other educational institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared as deemed universities under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956, or equivalent qualifications.
Age Limit
- Candidates must be between 21 and 32 years old as of August 1, 2023. This means you must have been born between August 2, 1991, and August 1, 2002.
Application Fee
- General category candidates need to pay Rs. 100/- (Rupees One Hundred only). Payment can be made by cash deposit at any SBI branch, through net banking, or using Visa/Master/RuPay Credit/Debit cards. Female, SC, ST, and PwBD candidates are exempted from fee payment.
Selection Process
- The Indian Forest Service Examination consists of two stages: (i) Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination (Objective type) to select candidates for the Indian Forest Service (Main) Examination, and (ii) Indian Forest Service (Main) Examination (Written and Interview) for final selection.
