Job Details
The examination offers 454 total posts distributed as follows:
- Assistant Divisional Medical Officer in the Railways: 300 posts
- Assistant Medical Officer in Indian Ordnance Factories Health Services: 16 posts
- Junior Scale Posts in Central Health Services: 138 posts
Eligibility Criteria
- Education Qualification: Candidates must have passed both written and practical parts of the final M.B.B.S. Examination.
- Age Limit: Candidates must not have attained 32 years as on 1st August, 2018.
- Application Fees: Rs. 200/- (Rupees Two Hundred only) for general candidates. Female/SC/ST/PH candidates are exempted from fee payment. Payment can be made through SBI branches, net banking, or Visa/Master/RuPay Credit/Debit Card.
Selection Process
Final selection will be based on Written Exam, Physical Efficiency Tests (PET), Interview & Merit.
Exam Pattern & Syllabus
The examination consists of two parts:
Part-1: Computer Based Examination (500 Marks)
- Paper 1 (250 Marks): General Medicine and Pediatrics
- Total questions: 120 (96 from General Medicine and 24 from Pediatrics)
- Paper 2 (250 Marks): Surgery, Gynecology & Obstetrics, Preventive & Social Medicine
- Total questions: 120 (40 questions from each part)
- Time Duration: 02 hours
- Note: Negative marking for wrong answers in objective type questions.
Part-2: Personality Test (100 Marks)
Candidates who qualify in the computer based examination will be called for Interview/Personality Test conducted by UPSC.
