Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

  • Sub Inspectors: Graduate from a recognized University
  • Constables: SSLC/Matric from a recognized Board

Note: Degree from a recognized University for Sub-Inspector (Executive) shall only be valid. Those awaiting results of the final examination of the prescribed educational qualification SHOULD NOT apply.

Age Limit

  • Sub Inspectors: 20 to 25 years
  • Constables: 18 to 25 years

Application Fee

  • General Category: Rs. 500/-
  • Reserved Categories (SC/ST/Exserviceman/Female/Minorities/Economically backward): Rs. 250/-

Note: Rs. 400/- shall be refunded for General category candidates (deducting bank charges) on appearing in CBT. Rs. 250/- shall be refunded for reserved category candidates (deducting bank charges) on appearing in CBT.

Selection Process

The recruitment process consists of four phases:

  1. Computer Based Test (CBT)
  2. Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
  3. Physical Measurement Test (PMT)
  4. Document Verification (DV)

Exam Pattern and Syllabus

Phase I: Computer Based Test (CBT)

  • Duration: 90 minutes
  • Total Questions: 120
  • Language Options: Hindi, English, Urdu, Tamil, Telugu, Konkani, Malayalam, Kannada, Marathi, Gujarati, Bengali, Odia, Assamese, Manipuri, Punjabi
  • Marking Scheme: +1 for correct answer, -1/3 for wrong answer

Syllabus

  • General Awareness (50 marks): Indian History, Art & Culture, Geography, Economics, General Polity, Indian Constitution, Sports, General Science, etc.
  • Arithmetic (35 marks): Number systems, percentages, ratio and proportion, averages, interest, profit and loss, discount, mensuration, time and distance, etc.
  • General Intelligence & Reasoning (35 marks): Analogies, spatial visualization, problem solving, judgment, decision making, coding and decoding, syllogistic reasoning, etc.

Phase II: Physical Efficiency Test (PET) & Physical Measurement Test (PMT)

Candidates will be called based on their CBT merit, up to 10 times the category-wise total vacancy. Passing PET is mandatory and qualifying in nature.

Physical Standards
  • Constable (Male): 1600 meters run in 5 min 45 secs, Long Jump 14 feet, High Jump 4 feet
  • Constable (Female): 800 meters run in 3 min 40 secs, Long Jump 9 feet, High Jump 3 feet
  • Sub-Inspector (Male): 1600 meters run in 6 min 30 secs, Long Jump 12 feet, High Jump 3 feet 9 inch
  • Sub-Inspector (Female): 800 meters run in 4 min, Long Jump 9 feet, High Jump 3 feet

Phase III: Document Verification

Candidates will be called based on their performance in CBT and subject to qualifying in PET & PMT. In case of tie marks, older candidates will be given higher seniority.
