Indian Coast Guard Recruitment 2017

The Indian Coast Guard (ICG) has announced an exciting recruitment drive for Assistant Commandants in the 02/2018 Batch. This is your chance to join one of India’s premier maritime forces in three different branches: General Duty (GD), General Duty (Pilot), and Commercial Pilot License (CPL).

Three distinct positions are open for qualified candidates:

  • Assistant Commandant General Duty
  • Assistant Commandant General Duty (Pilot)
  • Assistant Commandant (Commercial Pilot License-SSA)

Eligibility Criteria

General Duty / General Duty (Pilot) Branch:

  • Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university with minimum 60% marks in aggregate
  • Mathematics and Physics as subjects up to intermediate or class XII with 60% aggregate
  • Age limit: 01 July 1993 to 30 June 1997 (both dates inclusive)

Pilot (CPL) Branch:

  • 12th class pass with 60% marks in aggregate
  • Must possess current/valid Commercial Pilot License (CPL) issued/validated by DGCA
  • Age limit: 01 July 1993 to 30 June 1999 (both dates inclusive)

Service Period: Short Service Appointment for 08 years, extendable to 10 years and further up to 14 years.

Selection Process

The selection involves multiple stages:

  • Short Listing: Based on higher percentage of marks in qualifying examination
  • Stage-I (Preliminary Selection): Mental Ability Test/Cognitive Aptitude Test and Picture Perception & Discussion Test (PP&DT)
  • Stage-II (Final Selection): Candidates qualifying preliminary selection
  • Medical Examination: At nearest Military Hospital (GD Pilot candidates at AFCME, Delhi)
  • CPSS: GD Pilot candidates must appear for CPSS at Dehradun/Mysore AFSBs

The preliminary selection will be conducted from early January 2018 at these centers:

  • Coast Guard Regional Headquarters (West), Worli Sea Face, Mumbai – 400 030
  • Coast Guard Store Depot, Chennai – 600 013
  • Coast Guard Regional Headquarters (North East), Kolkata – 700 161
  • Coast Guard Selection Board, Noida, UP – 201 301

  • Online application start: 18 November 2017
  • Last date for online application: 02 December 2017 (till 05:00 PM)
  • e-admit card download: 11 December 2017 to 24 December 2017
