Indian Army JAG Entry Scheme 19th Course Oct 2017

The Indian Army is calling for applications from both married and unmarried male candidates, as well as unmarried female candidates for the Judge Advocate General (JAG) Entry Scheme. This recruitment drive is for the 19th Course scheduled for October 2017.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • Educational Qualification: Minimum 55% aggregate marks in LLB Degree (3 years professional after graduation or five years after 10+2 examination). Candidates must be eligible for registration with Bar Council of India/State and should be from a college/university recognized by Bar Council of India.
  • Age Limit: 21 to 27 years (Born between 02 Jul 1990 and 01 Jul 1996)

Selection Process

The selection procedure involves multiple stages:

  1. Initial shortlisting of applications by Recruiting Directorate, Integrated HQ of MoD (Army)
  2. Shortlisted candidates detailed for SSB interview at allotted Selection Centres
  3. Two-stage selection procedure based on Psychological Aptitude Test
  4. Stage I test conducted on first day of reporting at Selection Centres
  5. Stage II test comprising Group Tests, Psychological Tests and Interview (4 days duration excluding Stage I day)
  6. Final selection based on merit order of candidates who qualify SSB and are medically fit

Physical standards must be met as per prescribed guidelines available on the official website. Medical examination by a Board of Service Medical officers is mandatory for candidates recommended by the Services Selection Board.
