Indian Air Force Airmen Group-Y Sports Recruitment 2015
Indian Air Force invites applications from unmarried outstanding sports persons (only male Indian citizens) for selection as Airmen in Group-Y trades across various sports disciplines. This recruitment offers an excellent opportunity for talented athletes to join the Indian Air Force.

- Football

Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification: Passed 10+2 or equivalent examination in stream/subjects approved by Central/State Boards of Education.
Sports Achievement Requirements
Candidates must meet one of the following criteria:
- Represented the country in Junior International meets in any of the mentioned sports disciplines. Current achievements will be given preference during selection trials.
- Attained fifth place in Junior National Championship or Inter University Championship in the mentioned sports discipline. Current achievements will be given preference during selection trials.
- In team events, represented state in junior National Championship and National School Tournaments conducted by School Games Federation of India (SGFI) in the mentioned sports discipline. Current achievements will be given preference during selection trials.
Age Limit
Minimum 18 years.
Medical Standards
- Height: Minimum 152.5 cm
- Chest: Minimum 5 cm
- Weight: Proportionate to height and age
- Vision: Minimum visual standard – Unaided 6/36, corrected to at least 6/9 for each eye with spectacles
Physical Fitness Test (PFT)
PFT consists of a 1.6 km run to be completed within 8 minutes. Candidates completing the PFT in less than 7 minutes 30 seconds will be awarded additional marks on a sliding scale. Candidates are advised to bring their sports kit/playing kit/sports shoes and shorts.
Selection Process
Candidates will be selected based on Interview/Physical Fitness Test.
