IBPS RRB Recruitment 2016: Your Gateway to Banking Careers
The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) has opened doors for banking aspirants through its Common Recruitment Process for Regional Rural Banks (RRBs- CWE-V) 2016. Educational Qualifications You Need
Different posts require different qualifications. Here’s what each position demands:
Office Assistant (Multipurpose):
- Any degree from a recognized university
- Proficiency in local language as specified by participating RRBs
- Computer skills knowledge is desirable
Officer Scale-I:
- Any degree from a recognized university
- Preference given to candidates with degrees in Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry, Animal Husbandry, Veterinary Science, Agricultural Engineering, Pisciculture, Agricultural Marketing and Cooperation, Information Technology, Management, Law, Economics and Accountancy
- Computer knowledge or awareness is preferred
Officer Scale-II:
- General Banking Officer: Any degree with minimum 50% marks (preference for Banking, Finance, Marketing, Agriculture, etc.)
- Information Technology Officer: Degree in Electronics/Communication/Computer Science/Information Technology with 50% marks (certificates in ASP, PHP, C++, Java, VB, VC, OCP are desirable)
- Chartered Accountant: Certified Associate from ICAI
- Law Officer: Law degree with 50% marks
- Treasury Manager: CA or MBA in Finance
- Marketing Officer: MBA in Marketing
- Agricultural Officer: Degree in Agriculture/Horticulture/Dairy/Animal Husbandry/Forestry/Veterinary Science/Agricultural Engineering/Pisciculture with 50% marks
Officer Scale-III:
- Any degree with minimum 50% marks
- Preference for degrees in Banking, Finance, Marketing, Agriculture, etc.
Age Limits: Know Your Eligibility
Age requirements vary by post:
- Officer Scale-III: 21-40 years (born between 03.09.1976 and 31.08.1995)
- Officer Scale-II: 21-32 years (born between 03.09.1984 and 31.08.1995)
- Officer Scale-I: 18-30 years (born between 03.09.1986 and 31.08.1998)
- Office Assistant: 18-28 years (born between 02.09.1988 and 01.09.1998)
Age relaxations are available as per government rules.
Application Fees: What You Need to Pay
The application window was open from 14/09/2016 to 30/09/2016 (inclusive). Here’s the fee structure:
- Officer (Scale I, II & III): Rs. 600 for general category, Rs. 100 for SC/ST/PWD
- Office Assistant: Rs. 600 for general category, Rs. 100 for SC/ST/PWD/EXSM
- Bank transaction charges for online payment are to be borne by the candidate

The selection process has two stages:
- Written examination
- Interview
