Education Qualification
Candidates should be either a graduate in any discipline with degree/diploma in Mass Communication/Journalism OR Graduate/Post Graduate in Mass Communication/Journalism from a recognized university/reputed institution. Minimum 2 years’ experience in the relevant field as anchor/correspondent/reporter in electronic media is required. Only field experience after acquiring the relevant educational qualification will be considered.
Selection Process
The selection process includes a Written Examination and Screen-cum-skill test.
Written Examination
- Tests knowledge of local language, local situations, customs, politics, and economy
- Assesses proficiency in Hindi and English languages
- Includes aptitude test
- Date and timing will be intimated through mail/SMS
Screen-cum-skill Test
Candidates qualifying the written test will undergo a Screen-cum-skill test at the RNU level. Evaluation will be based on three parameters:
- Reporting skill
- Piece to camera
- Anchoring skill
- Overall pleasant and presentable personality
Application Process
Eligible candidates should apply in the prescribed form to the Director (News), Doordarshan Kendra, Thaltej, Ahmedabad- 380054 along with a Demand Draft of Rs. 400 drawn in favour of PB, BCI, DDK, Ahmedabad payable at Ahmedabad.

Eligibility Criteria
All eligible persons throughout the state and even those residing outside can apply. Non-residents of the state would also be considered provided they: (a) write exam in the state of their birth (b) give an undertaking to work in the RNU applied for, on being selected.
How to Apply
The selection will be RNU based and those selected will be attached to the respective RNU and considered on their roll. Their services will be used in respective RNUs as well as for the DD News at national level.
