Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
- Candidates must hold a certificate of competency as Master of foreign going ship issued by the Ministry of Shipping, Government of India, or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of Shipping, Government of India
- Must have one-year post qualification experience as Master/Chief Officer of a foreign going ship
Age Limit
- The maximum age is 60 years. Preference will be given to pilots below 58 years of age
- Age relaxation is available up to 65 years, considering that many mariners may retire as pilots from other Major Ports
- Ex-Pilots of DPT may also be considered for appointment as Pilots on contract basis
Selection Process
Final selection will be based on personal interview.
