Exam Details

  • Name of Exam: National Eligibility Test (UGC-NET) July 2018

UGC NET Eligibility Criteria

  • Educational Qualification: Candidates must have secured at least 55% marks (without rounding off) in Master’s Degree or equivalent examination from recognized universities/institutions.
  • Age Limit:
    • JRF: Not more than 30 years as on 01.07.2018
    • Assistant Professor: No upper age limit
  • Examination Fee: Rs. 1000/- for General Category & Rs. 500/- for Other Backward Classes

UGC NET Selection Process

Final selection will be based solely on the written examination performance.

CBSE UGC NET Exam Pattern

  • Paper 1:
    • Questions: 100 (All compulsory)
    • Marks: 100
    • Time: 1 Hour (09:30 AM to 10:30 AM) IST
  • Paper-I consists of 50 objective type compulsory questions, each carrying 2 marks. These questions assess general teaching/research aptitude, reasoning ability, comprehension, divergent thinking, and general awareness.
  • Paper 2:
    • Questions: 100 (All compulsory)
    • Marks: 200
    • Time: 2 Hours (11:00 AM to 1:00 PM) IST
  • Paper-II contains 100 objective type compulsory questions, each carrying 2 marks, based on the subject selected by the candidate.
