Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
For Junior Hindi Translator and Junior Translator positions, you need a Master’s degree in either Hindi or English with specific requirements. Alternatively, you can have a Master’s degree in any other subject with both Hindi and English as compulsory or elective subjects. A recognized Diploma or Certificate in translation, or two years of translation experience in government offices, also qualifies you.
For Senior Hindi Translator, the requirements are similar, but you need either three years of translation experience or the same educational qualifications with additional criteria.
Age Limit
Candidates must be between 18 to 30 years old as of January 1, 2022. This means you should have been born between January 2, 1992, and January 1, 2004.
Application Fee
The application fee is Rs 100. However, candidates from SC/ST categories, women, and ESM (Ex-Servicemen) categories are exempt from paying this fee.
Selection Process
The selection process involves four stages:
- Written Exam (Tier-1)
- Written Exam (Tier-2) – Subjective
- Document Verification
- Medical Examination
Exam Pattern and Syllabus
The examination consists of two papers:
Paper-I (Objective Type – Computer Based)
- General Hindi: 100 Questions & 100 Marks
- General English: 100 Questions & 100 Marks
- Duration: 2 Hours
Paper-II (Conventional Type – Descriptive)
- Translation & Essay: 200 Marks
- Duration: 2 Hours
Paper-I will feature objective multiple-choice questions with negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer.
Qualifying Marks
The minimum qualifying marks vary by category:
- UR: 30%
- OBC/EWS: 25%
- Others: 20%
