BSF Recruitment 2016: 561 Constable (Tradesmen) Posts Open
The Border Security Force (BSF) is calling for applications from male Indian citizens to fill 561 Constable (Tradesmen) positions. These posts come with a pay scale of Rs. 5200-20200 plus Grade pay Rs. 2000/- and all admissible allowances as per Central Government norms. While the posts are initially temporary, they are likely to become permanent.

Educational Requirements
Candidates must meet one of these qualifications:
- Matriculation or equivalent from a recognized University/Board with two years of work experience in the respective trade
- One year certificate course from Industrial Training Institute or Vocational Institute with at least one year experience in the trade
- Two years Diploma from Industrial Training Institute in the trade or similar trade
Age Limit
Applicants must be between 18 to 23 years old as of 01/08/2016.
Selection Process
The selection involves multiple stages:
- Physical Standard Test (PST)
- Physical Efficiency Test (PET) – Candidates must complete a 5-kilometer race within 24 minutes
- Documentation – Original documents will be verified
- Trade Test – Qualifying in nature. Each candidate can appear for only one trade test as entered in the application form
- Written Test – 100 marks with 100 objective questions to be completed in 2 hours. Qualifying marks are 35% for General Category & Ex-Servicemen and 33% for SC/ST/OBC
- Medical Examination

Application forms and admit cards are available on the BSF Official Website. Candidates need to print the prescribed forms (foolscap size, single-sided paper), fill them completely, attach recent passport-size photographs, examination fees, and required documents, then submit them to the concerned Recruitment Centers/Headquarters.
