Eligibility Criteria

  • Educational Qualification:
    • Junior Clerk:
      • Graduates with sufficient knowledge in computers (MS WORD, MS EXCEL) and a 6-month certificate course in Computers
      • Computer proficiency will be judged through typing tests
    • Junior Engineer (Civil):
      • Degree in Civil Engineering OR
      • Diploma in Civil Engineering with 3 years’ experience
  • Note:
    • Qualifications must be from recognized Indian Universities approved by UGC or Institutes approved by AICTE
    • Candidates must possess valid documents as of 1st March 2018
  • Age limit: Not more than 28 years
  • Emoluments and Benefits:
    • Junior Clerk: Basic Pay Rs. 16,300/- in Pay scale Rs. 16,300-38,200 with total emoluments approximately Rs. 28,000/- per month
    • Junior Engineer (Civil): Basic Pay Rs. 21,000/- in Pay scale Rs. 21,000-53,500 with total emoluments approximately Rs. 36,000/- per month
  • Application Fee: Rs. 300/- + GST @ 18% for all candidates except SC/ST/PH/DPT Employees

Selection Process

Selection will be based on performance in online examination, proficiency test (if applicable), and weightage of educational qualification. No interview for these Class III posts. Shortlisted candidates must submit required documents for verification.

Online Examination Structure

For Junior Clerk:

  • General Knowledge: 25 Questions & 25 Marks
  • Reasoning: 25 Questions & 25 Marks
  • English: 25 Questions & 25 Marks
  • Numerical Ability: 25 Questions & 25 Marks
  • Total: 100 Questions & 100 Marks
  • Duration: 90 Minutes

For Junior Engineer (Civil):

  • General Knowledge: 20 Questions & 20 Marks
  • Technical Questions: 50 Questions & 50 Marks
  • English Language: 10 Questions & 10 Marks
  • Reasoning: 10 Questions & 10 Marks
  • Numerical Ability: 10 Questions & 10 Marks
  • Total: 100 Questions & 100 Marks
  • Duration: 90 Minutes

Note:

  • Medium of test: English
  • DPT reserves the right to modify test structure and minimum scores

Test Centers

Online examination will be conducted in Gujarat at Ahmedabad, Anand, Gandhinagar, Himmatnagar, Mehsana, Rajkot, Surat, and Vadodara.

Eligible candidates can apply online through DPT website www.kandlaport.gov.in under ‘Recruitment Section’. Candidates are responsible for downloading and printing admit cards. DPT is not responsible for email delivery issues.
