General Insurance Corporation – GIC Re is looking for young, energetic graduates and postgraduates with brilliant academic records. They’re hiring 25 Officers in the Assistant Manager (Scale-I) cadre. The positions are based in India and abroad, primarily at the Head Office in Mumbai. Selected candidates will be posted anywhere in India or abroad as needed.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

  • General Stream: Graduate/Post Graduate in any discipline from a recognized university with at least 60% marks for General & OBC candidates, and 55% for SC/ST candidates
  • Hindi: Post Graduate in Hindi with English as one subject in graduation OR Post Graduate in English with Hindi as one subject in graduation, with at least 60% marks for General & OBC candidates and 55% for SC/ST candidates. Certification in translation work or translation experience is required

Age Limit

  • 21 to 30 years (as on 08/05/2018)

Application Fee

  • Non-refundable amount of Rs. 500/- (plus GST @ 18%) as Processing and Examination fees. Payment must be made online only. SC/ST category candidates, PH candidates, and employees of GIC and GIPSA Member Companies are exempted from the fees. Demand Draft/Money Order/Postal Order or any other payment mode is not acceptable.

Selection Process

The selection will be based on shortlisting candidates through an Online Test, followed by Group Discussion and Interview.

Online Written Examination Scheme

For General Stream Candidates:

  • Part A (Objective): Higher Order Reasoning Ability/Critical Thinking – 40 Marks & 40 Questions
  • Part B (Objective):
    • Test of Reasoning: 20 Marks & 20 Questions
    • Test of English Language: 20 Marks & 20 Questions
    • Test of General Awareness: 20 Marks & 20 Questions
    • Test of Quantitative Aptitude & Computer Literacy: 20 Marks & 20 Questions
  • Part C (Descriptive): Test in English Language – Essay, precise and Comprehension – 30 Marks & 03 Questions
  • Total: 150 Marks & 123 Questions

For Hindi Officer:

  • Part A (Objective): Technical & Professional Knowledge Test in relevant discipline – 40 Marks & 40 Questions
  • Part B (Objective):
    • Test of Reasoning: 20 Marks & 20 Questions
    • Test of English Language: 20 Marks & 20 Questions
    • Test of Quantitative Aptitude & Computer Literacy: 20 Marks & 20 Questions
  • Part C (Descriptive): Test in English Language – Essay, precise and Comprehension – 30 Marks & 03 Questions
  • Total: 150 Marks & 123 Questions

Additional Exam Details:

  • Minimum qualifying marks in online test: 60% for General & OBC, 50% for SC/ST
  • Minimum qualifying marks for overall selection process: 60% for General & OBC, 50% for SC/ST
  • Part B and Part C are common for all streams
  • Penalty for wrong answers: 1/4 of marks assigned to the question will be deducted
  • Tests are bilingual (English and Hindi) except English Language test
  • Descriptive English Test is conducted online – answers must be typed in English
  • Total test timing: 150 minutes (30 minutes for Part A, 60 minutes for Part B, 60 minutes for Part C)
