Educational Qualifications
The educational requirements vary based on the post you’re applying for:
For Constable (Operator):
- 10+2 with Physics as a regular subject from State Board/recognized University + 6 months basic computer course (200 hours) from government-recognized institute
- OR 10+2 with Physics + B.Sc. (I.T.) or Bachelor in Computer Applications from recognized University
- OR Matriculation + Diploma in Computer Engineering/Electronics & Communication Engineering (3 years) from AICTE-approved polytechnic
- OR Graduation in Electronics/Electronics and Communication from recognized University
For Constable (Hardware):
- Matriculation + 1 year certificate course in Computer Hardware and Network Maintenance (NCVT-approved) with 1 year practical experience
- OR Matriculation + Certificate Course in Information Technology & Electronics System Maintenance (2 years) or Information & Communication Technology System Maintenance (2 years) from NCVT
- OR Matriculation + Diploma in Computer Engineering/Electronics & Communication Engineering (3 years) from AICTE-approved polytechnic
- OR Graduation in Computer Engineering from recognized University
For Constable (Software):
- Matriculation + 1 year certificate course in Computer Operator and Programming Assistant (COPA) (NCVT-approved) with 1 year practical experience
- OR 10+2 + ‘O’ level Computer Course from NIELIT or DOEACC
- OR Matriculation + Diploma in Information Technology (3 years) from AICTE-approved polytechnic
- OR Graduation/Post Graduation Diploma in Computer Science/Software Engineering/Information Technology/Computer Application from recognized University
Age Limit
Candidates must be between 18 to 28 years as of 01/01/2016.
Application Fee
The application fee can be paid online through Net Banking, Debit/Credit Card, or offline at HDFC Bank and Punjab Police Saanjh Kendras with the printed Fee Challan Form.
- General category candidates: Rs 400/-
- SC/ST/BC candidates: Rs 100/-
- Ex-Servicemen candidates: No fee
Selection Process
Candidates will be selected based on performance in Written Examination, Physical Efficiency Test, and Medical test. After scrutiny of applications and qualifying preliminary medical/drug tests, candidates will participate in the Physical Efficiency Test (PET).
Physical Tests:
- For Male: 800 meters race in 4 minutes, Long Jump (3 chances) 9 ft, High Jump (3 chances) 3 ft
- For Female: 400 meters race in 2 minutes, Long Jump (3 chances) 6 ft, High Jump (3 chances) 2½ ft
- For Ex-servicemen: 800 meter walk/run in 6 minutes
Note: Candidates must qualify in all three PET events. Failure in any event will result in disqualification.
