Calcutta High Court is inviting applications from Indian citizens for 21 permanent vacancies in the post of Assistant Registrar (Court Recording) on the Original Side.

Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification: Graduation from Calcutta University or equivalent examination of a statutory Indian or other University. Candidates must possess knowledge of the vernacular of West Bengal and good knowledge of English. They should be able to take down depositions of witnesses, judgments, orders, etc. in ‘shorthand’ at a speed of at least 160 words per minute and with computer assistance.
Age Limit and Pay Scale
Age Limit: 18 to 32 years
Pay Scale: Rs 15600 – 42000 with GP Rs 5400 and Rs 200 per month Special allowance
Application Fee
Candidates must pay Rs.300/- (Rs.75/- for SC/ST and PWD candidates) by Bank Challan payable at UBI, in favour of Registrar, High Court, O.S. being A/C no. 0091010372343 (High Court Branch). Employees of the High Court at Calcutta and candidates belonging to exempted categories are exempted from paying examination fees.
Selection Process
Candidates will be selected based on their performance in Written Examination and/or Interview.
