Eligibility Criteria
Nationality
- Must be a citizen of India, or a subject of Nepal, or a person of Indian origin who has migrated from specified countries with intention to permanently settle in India
Educational Qualification
- For NCC ‘C’ Certificate Holders:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent from recognized University
- Final year students can apply if they complete graduation before course commencement
- Minimum two/three years service in Senior Division/Wg of NCC
- Minimum ‘B’ Grade in NCC ‘C’ Certificate Exam
- Provisional NCC ‘C’ Certificate holders must obtain full certificate before SSB
- For Wards of Battle Casualties:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent from recognized University
- Final year students can apply if they complete graduation before course commencement
- No NCC ‘C’ certificate required
- Must provide battle casualty certificate and related documents
Age Limit
- 19 to 25 years as on 01 Jan 2027 (born between 02 Jan 2002 and 01 Jan 2008)
Selection Process
The selection process has five stages with no written exam:
- Application Submission
- Shortlisting of Applications (bonus marks out of 100)
- SSB Centre and Date Selection (first-come, first-served)
- SSB Interview (five days at Prayagraj, Bhopal, Bengaluru, or Jalandhar)
- Medical Examination and Merit List
