CTET 2016: Your Gateway to Teaching Careers
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), Delhi has officially announced the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) Examination for 2016. This exam opens doors for teaching positions across schools in India.
Exam Overview
The CTET February 2016 exam serves as a mandatory qualification for teaching positions in central government schools. You’ll need to meet specific educational requirements and clear this test to become eligible for teaching roles.
Educational Qualifications
For teaching Classes I-V (Primary Stage):
- Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education
- Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (as per NCTE Regulations, 2002)
- Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed)
- Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education)
- Graduation and passed or appearing in final year of two-year Diploma in Elementary Education
For teaching Classes VI-VIII (Elementary Stage):
- Graduation and passed or appearing in final year of two-year Diploma in Elementary Education
- Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed)
- Graduation with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed) (as per NCTE Regulations)
- Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed) OR 4-year B.A/B.Sc.Ed or B.A. Ed/B.Sc.Ed
- Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year B.Ed. (Special Education)
Exam Pattern
The CTET follows an objective type Multiple Choice Question format with no negative marking. You’ll appear for one of two papers:
- Paper I: For teaching Classes I to V
- Paper II: For teaching Classes VI to VIII

Exam Fee
You can pay the exam fee through:
- Online mode (Debit/Credit Card)
- Offline mode (Through Challan by depositing prescribed fees in CBSE Account with Syndicate Bank or Canara Bank in favor of Secretary, Central Board of Secondary Education, Delhi)
