The Government of India, Ministry of Science and Technology, Department of Science and Technology (DST), New Delhi has announced recruitment for six posts of Scientist ‘C’ and six posts of Scientist ‘D’ on direct recruitment basis.

Posts and Educational Qualifications
Name of Posts Educational Qualification:
- Scientist – ‘C’: 06 Posts [Physics – 02, Chemistry – 03, Engineering/Technology – 02]
- Master’s Degree in Physics or Chemistry or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Technology from a recognized University or equivalent for respective discipline
- Four years’ experience in Research and Development in Industrial and Academic Institutions or Science and Technology organisation and scientific activities and services
- Desirable: Doctorate Degree in Physics or Chemistry or Master’s Degree in Engineering or Technology from a recognized University or equivalent for respective discipline
- Scientist – ‘D’: 06 Posts [Physics – 02, Chemistry – 03, Engineering/Technology – 02]
- Master’s Degree in Physics or Chemistry or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Technology from a recognized University or equivalent for respective discipline
- Eight years experience in Research and Development in Industrial and Academic Institutions or Science and Technology organization or and scientific activities and services, out of which four years shall be in science and technology programme, planning, development and cooperation
- Desirable: Doctorate Degree in Physics or Chemistry or Master’s Degree in Engineering or Technology from a recognized University or equivalent for respective discipline
Age Limit
Age limit: 35 years in case of Scientist ‘C’ and 40 years in case of Scientist ‘D’
Screening & Selection Process
The screening and selection process shall be as prescribed by Central Government. The composition of the eligibility Committee, screening cum-short listing Committee and interview Board etc. shall be as prescribed by Central Government. However, majority of the members in the screening-cum-shortlisting Committee and Interview Board, including the Chairman shall be from outside the Department of Science and Technology. If considered necessary, the screening process shall include written test, to be conducted by the Central Government directly or through any other Central Government agency or organisation having experience and expertise in the area.
How to Apply
Applications should be neatly typed on thick plain paper (A-4 size 210 x 297 mm) only in the prescribed format given below. Copies of certificates in support of educational qualifications, date of birth, Disability, Community (in case of SC/ST/OBC candidates only) and experience should be attached with the application with self attestation. Candidates will have to produce the original certificates as and when required.
